How to Cure Vitiligo

Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease and its root cause cannot be traced, meaning it is a result of the body's response (albeit inappropriate) to specific tissues or substances. It is a disorder where skin de-pigmentation happens, resulting to white patches on the face, neck, or other areas of the body.
What is known, however, is that this condition occurs because the cells that are responsible for creating melanin die. Melanin, as we know, it is responsible for skin color. It is unfortunate that there has been no scientific breakthrough on How to cure vitiligo permanently. However, there are cures, in the sense that some of the effects can be reversed and that you can stop the disease from spreading
How To Cure Vitiligo - Step 1: Diagnosis
The initial step is to consult the doctor. Random tests will be done in order for a patient to be diagnosed as having vitiligo. Close monitoring of the patient's condition is also another purpose for the consultation.

How To Cure Vitiligo - Step 2. Analyzing Environmental and Other Factors
Before a cure or treatment option is recommended, a few factors need to be considered. For one, the extent of the damage needs to be established. The physician should know the quantity of white patches and where they are located should be. The most important factor of all is the treatment that the patient is willing to undergo to cure vitiligo. One can either go for medications, or for invasive surgical procedures.
In the meantime, sunblock or sunscreen can be useful because patients need to protect the de-pigmented skin from harmful rays of the sun.
How To Cure Vitiligo - Step 3. Medications
There are also medicines which can be orally taken. Herbal or natural treatments like turmeric and babchi seeds may be used. These herbal products are applied on the white patches of the skin to remove the discoloration. Note that when these medical treatments do not work, surgical treatments are the only remaining options.
How To Cure Vitiligo - Step 4. Surgery
A means on How to cure vitiligo is through the reversal of skin changes, which can be achieved by more invasive procedures. Skin bleaching is another option. The aim of these methods is to make the de-pigmented skin even out with the original skin tone to give the skin a better appearance. One can also opt for skin tattooing, which is more of a remedy than a cure. Another option is a skin graft.
Final Note
Keep in mind that the treatment for Vitiligo can be a tedious process and at times, patients may become depressed of not seeing immediate results. That is why strong encouragement and motivation are recommended.
